Wendy's Horses Helping Humans is an equine assisted learning program based on the Four Temperaments personality model dating back two thousand years.
Engaging with horses can be quite daunting. Every horse has it's own temperament and participants learn to communicate with each one in order to complete a set of tasks.
Participants learn the science and practice of personal regulation - effective breathing, confident body language and steady, firm instruction - in order to graduate as bona fide horse whisperers.
There are big smiles at the end of each day when we apply the lessons to our family and friends.

Horses have an extraordinary ability to read and respond to people. Their big hearts and intelligent brains provide an endless source of behavioural interaction. As participants overcome their initial apprehension they soon learn that moderating their behaviour is critical to completing the course.

Pierre, Dawny, Spirit and Caleb are gentle horses experienced in helping people ease into riding.
Like every learning experience, doing a little bit regularly is better than doing a whole lot, all at once.
Lessons can start after you've attended one of our ground programs above or you can demonstrate that you've learned the basics somewhere else.

Pierre - The 'Sunny'
Pierre is a 'Sunny'. Sunnys are loyal, ambitious and determined. They have a lot of energy. Sometimes they can look intimidating. They can get frustrated and they prefer communication that is "straight to the point". They're results oriented.
Pierre is the natural leader in our team of horses.
Dawny - The 'Mindy'
Dawny - The 'Mindy'
Dawny is a 'Mindy'. Mindys love to serve and are outcome driven. She can look nervous and lack confidence at times. Her anxiety can be seen through closing down her body.
Dawn is the calm, thoughtful, nurturer in our team of horses.
Spirit - The 'Larry'
Spirit - The 'Larry'
Spirit is a 'Larry'. Larrys are relaxed and organised. They are consistent, rational and observant. Sometimes, they can look, feel and behave defensively ... "I hope you're not insinuating I haven't done it correctly!"
Spirit is the organiser and helps instill security in the team.
Caleb - The 'Yogi'
Caleb - The 'Yogi'
Caleb is a 'Yogi'. Yogi's are fun 'people' horses and love to socialise. They get caught up in the moment and lose track of priorities. Yogi's can look distracted with a 'whatever attitude' which feels disrespectful to others.
Caleb is the extroverted motivator in our team.

Dress up as your favourite super hero and come join us in a fun and memorable birthday party for up to 8 children.
Horse grooming and dress-ups,

Between us we can organise catering. I'll delegate the cake making to you. Party hats and streamers can be supplied ... but no balloons.
